Science Art and Sport Center for Children 2011 Annual Performance Video
You can now watch the 2011 Science, Art and Sport Center for Children annual performance show (which I shot and edited) in its entirety on YouTube, and in full 1080p High Definition! The concert is just under 2 hours long and features a variety of international dancing, singing, gymnastics, skits and other entertainment – all performed by the children and instructors of the Russian Science, Art and Sport Center in Denver.

Who’s Bad (the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute band) and more at the Electric Avenue Music and Arts Festival (9.4.10)
One of the perks of shooting for Examiner.com is the occasional hook up with press passes to cool events, which I otherwise may not have been able to attend. One of such events took place this Labor Day weekend at the historic Five Points neighborhood. It was called Electric Avenue Music and Arts Festival, and apparently it was the best-kept secret in Denver (many people seemed to opt for the more mainstream Taste of Colorado).
One of the highlights of the 2-day music festival was a performance by Who’s Bad, the Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band. These guys put on a great show, definitely channeling the King of Pop’s energy and enthusiasm. The crowd was ecstatic.
Below are some of the photos from Who’s Bad’s performance on Saturday. For more photos from the concert and other images from Electric Avenue festival, check out my set on Flickr.

Maris the Great and the Faggots of Death at the Marquis Theatre (3/27/09)
Last Friday, DJ Rockstar Aaron invited me to what was probably the most insane (and entertaining) show I have ever been to. It was by a local Denver band called Maris the Great and the Faggots of Death, a group of drag-queen-obscene-trash-talking-flamboyant-zombies with a flair for the theatrical, the hyper-sexual and the gory. With irreverent song titles such as “Get That Wee Wee,” “FuckYouIfYouDontLikeRockRoll” and “Fag Anthem.” Yeah. It was a one-of-a-kind experience.
This was also my first time attempting to shoot a concert. For most shots, I bumped my ISO to 3200 and used all manual settings – hence, many came out soft and grainy. I didn’t care too much, as it just adds to the mood.
Warning: some of the photos below the cut may not be suitable for minors and are potentially NSFW.

Shiny Toy Guns
Stephanie and I went to the Shiny Toy Guns concert at the Marquis Theater last night. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a show (last one was Gogol Bordello, I believe), so it was a good time. Their rendition of Depeche Mode’s “Stripped” completely made my night.
All I had with me was my cellphone, so here are a couple of snapshot collages.
