[...] As I mentioned before, I’m a big proponent of the idea of using the right tool for the job. Sometimes, it’s a small sensor 3-chip camcorder like the HMC150, sometimes it’s a DSLR (as in the Ultimate Hydroponics and Organics video below, which I shot last month), and hell – sometimes it can even be just a cheap point-and-shoot that fits in your pocket :) [...]

[...] This month’s NRW event that took place at Fun City on Saturday was a resounding success, bringing in a completely packed house of local pro-wrestling fans. Technical issues that plagued last month’s show were a thing of the past, and everything went without a hitch. I’m very happy to see this event grow and attract more attention from both the fans and the media. [...]

I thought you knew about it? Basically, I was transporting the rabbit in the back of Ashley's car, which I was driving to the cabin from our first location at the trailer home. It was on one of those really twisty mountain roads and I was attempting to read the hand-drawn map with directions that they gave us, which was sort of confusing. Long story short, I was going a little too fast, got distracted by looking at the map and lost control of the car on one of the turns, driving it off the road and puncturing a tire in the process. It's funny, the first thing that came to my mind was "Oh crap, I hope I didn't kill the rabbit. He's supposed to be filmed later tonight!" I looked into the cage in the back seat, but luckily the little critter was fine, unlike my mountain driving skills back then. Hey, I didn't even own a car at the time.

I remember, the grip truck came by a few minutes later. John got out, saw Ashley's car in the ditch and was like "Are you okay? What the hell happened?" Ashley was laughing so hard when she heard the story, she insisted on taking a photo with me as the car was being pulled out by the tow-truck. Needless to say, I was immensely embarrassed by the whole ordeal!

If you have a crop-sensor camera body (such as Canon 7D, 60D, T2i, or Nikon D7000 and etc), the Tokina 11-16mm is probably the best value for an ultra-wide angle lens you can get. It's very well-built and the optical quality is superb for the price. I find that I don't use the 11mm end for nightclub shots very often, other than for crowd shots and large groups of people, but it's nice to have. When photographing just one or two people, I usually stick with 14-16mm to minimize distortion. But yeah, I would definitely recommend this lens. I'll be posting more nightclub photos I've taken with it in the next several days. It's also great for landscapes and astrophotography (I saw some of your night sky time-lapses - good work)!
