On Wednesday, Fillmore Auditorium was packed with food connoisseurs and music lovers who came to sample the dishes from some of Denver’s best restaurants, witness a Mile High Chef Competition showdown and groove to the live performance by The Informants. The event was titled Menu Affair, appropriately enough, because both the food and the music were worthy of falling in love with.
Being one of said food connoisseurs myself, I surely couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try some delicious food, have a few cocktails and listen to some good live music. Not to mention — it was a good opportunity to shoot some material for my Denver Nightlife Photography Examiner column.

It’s a big week for beer lovers in Denver, as Oktoberfest, Denver Beer Fest and Great American Beer Fest turn this already beer-friendly city into a brew-lover’s paradise.
Oktoberfest, a celebration of beer, food, music and German culture took place in Denver’s Ballpark Neighborhood on Larimer Street (between 20th and 22nd streets) on September 18-20th and will conclude on September 25-27th. It is an annual tradition that has been around for 40 years, but this year the celebration is particularly special — festival organizers announced that it will be the final Oktoberfest celebration in Denver, at least in its current incarnation.

It’s a new era at Lipgloss, as the torch gets passed on to DJ Soup and C.Db.Sn, who join DJ Boyhollow in Lipgloss residency.

Photos from DJ Tyler “Danger” Jacobson‘s last night as a resident DJ at Lipgloss. I didn’t get a chance to post these earlier, due to being on vacation. I’m back now, and I’ve been slowly catching up on organizing all of the material I shot in the last several weeks. It will take a while, but I’ll have it slowly trickling into this blog :)
