ABOUT VELFILM PRODUCTIONS

My name is Vadim Elkind and VELFILM Productions is my freelance media production studio in the heart of beautiful Denver, Colorado. I specialize in video production, editing, still photography and other multi-media projects for DVD and the World Wide Web.

I've always had a passion for art and entertainment, and I believe that constantly-evolving digital technology provides a great outlet for creative expression with virtually limitless possibilities!

The type of work I especially enjoy includes shooting anything related to the local arts and entertainment scene: film festival coverage, art exhibits, sci-fi conventions, promotional photos and videos for musicians, performers and artists. I am also interested in working with various local businesses and organizations connected with culture, entertainment and the arts. Promotion and expansion of Denver's growing creative community is something that I would very much like to partake in.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND

After receiving a BFA degree in Film Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001, I have worked on numerous film and TV shoots as a grip, production assistant, camera operator and editor. I also wrote, directed and edited several short films, promotional videos and a feature-length documentary.

In recent years, I developed an interest in still photography and digital imaging, and I try to incorporate it into my current creative projects.

Some of my recent work includes videography and still photography for the Vail Film Festival, promotional and performance videos for Science, Art and Sports Center for Children, and nightlife photography for various venues in Denver, including Lipgloss Fridays at La Rumba. THE PRESENT

At this time, VELFILM Productions is a part-time undertaking, functioning around my regular dayjob hours at a television broadcasting facility. Therefore, the number and types of projects I can get involved with in my spare time is somewhat limited.
