Local Business Video: The Diane Stow Team, RE/MAX Traditions, Inc (Longmont, CO)

As I mentioned before, one of the things I love about being a freelance videographer is the wide variety of subjects and locations I get to shoot every week. From corporate offices to restaurants, hair salons, schools and dance studios. Sometimes, the settings are pretty boring and not very cinematic (most offices, for example); but, once in a while I get to film at locations that are quite spectacular.

This promotional video for the The Diane Stow Team of RE/MAX Traditions, Inc was one of those experiences. Instead of asking me to shoot yet another uninspiring real estate office, Diane and her team decided to have the video filmed at one of their properties, which happens to be a multi-million dollar home in the Longmont area.

It was an incredibly windy day, and standing out on the deck, even with the camera’s optical stabilization on, mounted on a tripod with a fluid head, I struggled to get smooth pans at medium telephoto, without everything shaking as if there was an earthquake. Somehow, I still managed to get a few usable shots of the spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains in the background. Much of the exterior footage, unfortunately, ended up on the cutting room floor (so to speak).

Of course, the house itself was pretty fantastic, which you can see from the glimpses in the video. The basement alone was bigger than my entire apartment! There was also a meadow and a lake surrounded by trees in the backyard, with a gorgeous view of the mountains. It really doesn’t get much better than that. I’m moving in, as soon as I win the lottery ;)
